Luis Garibay-Avina ID’d as Man Killed in Modesto Car Accident on Highway 132 near Hart Road
Modesto, California (March 24, 2020) – Luis Garibay-Avina, 28, has been identified as the man who was killed on Saturday morning in a big rig crash in Modesto.
The deadly crash happened on Highway 132 near Hart Road, at about 6:50 a.m., on March 21.
A big rig, driven by Harinder Chhina, 39, from Tracy, was heading westbound on Highway 132 when it collided with a Volvo that was traveling southbound on Hart Road, according to the police.
The force of the impact pushed the Volvo forward and both vehicles came to a halt in a field at the southwest corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Volvo, Garibay-Avina, and his passenger, were both declared dead at the scene.
Chhina was uninjured in the accident.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
