Larry Kirby Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Thille Street in Ventura

Larry Kirby Dies after Ventura Pedestrian Accident on Thille Street near Saratoga Avenue

Ventura, California (April 30, 2020) – Larry Kirby, 42, of Ventura, has been identified as the man who was killed in an auto-pedestrian accident on Tuesday evening in Ventura, according to police.

The deadly crash transpired at about 5:47 p.m., on April 28, on Thille Street and Saratoga Avenue, just north of Thille Neighborhood Park.

According to the authorities, Kirby was struck by a car on the roadway in unclear circumstances. The direction at which the vehicle or Kirby was heading was yet to be known.

The driver called the police and remained at the scene to give aid to Kirby before the arrival of the first responders.

Kirby was transported to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment for his injuries.

Drugs or alcohol were not considered a factor in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is urged to call the department’s motor unit at 805-339-4451.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
