31-Yea-Old Laroy Kelly Seriously Hurt in Bakersfield Motorized Bike Crash at Bernard and Miller Streets 

Bakersfield, California (January 1, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol report has released the name of the Bakersfield male victim, who was seriously hurt in a traffic collision that happened on Monday evening in Bakersfield.

The collision, which happened at about 6:00 p.m. December 30, occurred at the intersection of Bernard and Miller streets.

A motorized bike ridden 31-year-old Laroy Kelly eastbound on the highway struck the rear of a pickup truck that was turning left onto Miller Street.

Due to the impact, Kelly, who was not wearing a helmet and had no light on the bicycle, was ejected from the bike.

Kelly suffered major injuries in the wreck. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for medication.

34-year-old Jesus Rodriguez, who was driving the pickup truck, stopped after the collision and cooperated with the investigation.

Officials did not believe drugs nor alcohol were factors in the accident. 

The accident remains under an active investigation.
