23-Year-Old Kalesha Johnson ID’d Woman Injured in Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Charter Way

Stockton, California (December 16, 2019) – 23-year-old Kalesha Johnson was hospitalized after an accident that left her son dead on Saturday night in Stockton, police said.

The fatal crash was reported at about 10:30 p.m. December 14, on Interstate 5 near Charter Way.

The California Highway Patrol said Johnson was driving a Ford sedan when a patrol vehicle driven by an off-duty, San Joaquin County deputy rear-ended it.

Johnson and her son were injured in the crash. A 1-year-old baby was flown to the hospital, but he later died at the hospital.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

Police are investigating the circumstances under which the crash occurred.
