Drivers Injured in Redding Head-On Accident on Highway 273 and Westwood Avenue ID’d as Judy Haughs and Rocky Mithcell
Redding, California (May 16, 2020) – 26-year-old Rocky Mithcell and Judy Haughs,77, were hospitalized after being involved in a head-on collision in Redding at approximately 5:00 p.m. May 15.
According to the Redding police, the accident happened when Mithcell tried to make a right turn from eastbound Westwood Avenue onto southbound Highway 273 and crossed the center median after he lost control. Mitchell’s vehicle then entered the northbound lanes of Highway 273 and crashed head-on with a Chrysler 300 driven by Haughs Friday evening.
Due to the impact, the Ford rolled over.
Mithcell, a Redding resident, was hospitalized at Shasta Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Police said the Redding resident, Haughs, sustained minor injuries and was rushed to Mercy Medical Center for further treatment.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
