Juan Santos Arrested after Santa Maria Crash at Cook Street and Pine Street

Santa Maria, California (January 6, 2020) – 25-year-old Juan Najera Santos of Santa Maria has been arrested after an alleged DUI collision Saturday night in the area of Santa Maria, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Saturday, January 4, at Cook Street and Pine Street.

As per the CHP officials, a pregnant woman was driving at the junction when her car was struck by Santos. Santos reportedly ran a red light at the intersection prior to the crash.

The woman suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Officials mentioned that the patient was not wearing her seatbelt at the time.

Authorities later arrested Santos on charges of DUI causing injuries. He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail.

An investigation is ongoing.
