Jose Hernandez ID’d as Pedestrian Hit and Killed Vehicle on Story Road near Karl Street in San Jose

San Jose, California (December 15, 2019) – The Santa Clara County coroner’s office has identified the pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle earlier this month in East San Jose as Jose Luis Hernandez, 37.

The fatal pedestrian crash happened just after 10:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7 on Story Road near Karl Street.

According to police, Hernandez was hit by a black Hyundai sedan that was heading eastbound on Story Road.

Hernandez was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
