Paso Robles, California (December 15, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has released the name of the victim injured in a traffic collision that happened in the area of Paso Robles late on Friday night.

The two-vehicle collision happened shortly after 11:00 p.m. December 13, along Highway 101 near Main Street.

Police said a 2015 Honda CR-V driven by 59-year-old John Hutchings of Paso Robles at 60 mph in the No. 2 lane of the highway was rear-ended by 1998 Ford Explorer driven by 35-year-old Jose Toral of Atascadero.

The initial report indicated that the Ford Explorer turned to the right for unknown reasons at the time of the collision.

The Explorer went off the road, slammed into a sign, a tree and a fence upon the impact. Officials said the Ford came to a rest on its roof on the frontage road.

The Honda crashed into the center divider after the crash.
