Jacob Titus Seriously Injured in 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 in Butte County
Jacob Titus ID’d as Teen Injured in Butte County Car Accident on Highway 99 near Evans Reimer Road
Butte County, California (January 11, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol has identified Jacob Titus, 18, of Butte County, as the teenager who suffered major injuries following a traffic crash that occurred Sunday morning in Butte County.
The accident happened at around 7:00 a.m. Sunday, January 5 on Highway 99 and Evans Reimer Road.
According to the CHP, a green Subaru Outback, driven by Titus, was traveling westbound on Evans Reimer Road approaching Highway 99.
The Subaru reportedly entered the intersection and was broadsided by a big rig that was heading northbound on Highway 99.
Titus was transported to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with multiple fractures, a head trauma, a torn artery to his heart, and a collapsed lung. He reportedly underwent a heart and several brain surgeries.
A GoFundMe has been created to help cover Titus’s medical expenses.
Authorities said the weather condition at the time of the accident was foggy.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
