3 Dead, 2 Hospitalized after 2-Vehicle Accident on Highway 160 near West Sherman Island Road in Rio Vista
Rio Vista, California (April 14, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash south of Rio Vista killed three people Tuesday evening and left two others with injuries, authorities said.
The fatal crash, which was reported at about 7:00 p.m., happened on Highway 160 near West Sherman Island Road.
Police said two vehicles collided on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and freed people who were pinned in the wreckage.
According to the authorities, three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities have not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.
Two other victims were treated at the scene by responding paramedics before transporting them to a hospital for further treatment. Their condition was not immediately disclosed.
Highway 160 in the area were temporarily shut down while authorities investigated the accident.
