Gerald Richardson Identified as Victim in Fatal Fresno County Crash at Reed Avenue and Adams Avenue
Fresno County, California (December 7, 2019) – The man who was killed Thursday evening in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck in Reedley has been identified as Gerald Richardson, 57, of Reedley, according to authorities.
The deadly crash took place just after 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5 at the intersection of Reed and Adams avenues.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi-truck was heading southbound on Reedley and was making a turn onto Adams when for an unknown reason, it collided with a Ford Bronco that was traveling northbound on Reedley.
The driver of the Bronco, now identified as Richardson, was trapped inside the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters.
Richardson was then taken to Adventist Hospital, where he later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured and stopped at the scene.
According to the CHP, alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. The semi-truck driver may be facing misdemeanor manslaughter charges in connection with the crash.
Further details were not immediately provided, and the accident remains under investigation.
