Fred Jack Westmoreland Arrested after Sonora Crash  in Greenlay Road near Cabezut Road

Sonora, California (March 14, 2020) – Police officers have arrested one of the two drivers injured in suspected DUI crash on Thursday morning in Sonora, according to a police report.

Authorities responded to the crash scene on Thursday 12, north on Greenlay Road just south of Cabezut Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 50-year-old Fred Jack Westmoreland of Sonora was driving a pickup north on Greenlay Road when he struck another vehicle after traveling over double yellow lines while turning right onto Cabezut Road.

Westmoreland and the other driver sustained minor injuries, and they were taken to the hospital by ground ambulances to Adventist Health Sonora.

Police later determined that Westmoreland was driving while under the alcohol. Westmoreland was arrested and booked into Tuolumne County Jail on Felony DUI charges due to injuries.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
