Woman Killed in Solana Beach Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue Identified as Felicitas Navarro
Solana Beach, California (March 17, 2020) – A three-car crash claimed the life of a Wilmington woman early Saturday morning in Solana Beach.
On March 14, at around 2:35 a.m., officers received a report of the accident on northbound Interstate 5, just south of Manchester Avenue.
Felicitas Navarro, 57, of Wilmington, was driving in the northbound lanes of the interstate when, for unknown reasons, she stopped and parked her car in the emergency lane against the center divider.
A second vehicle was stopped behind Navarro’s car in the emergency lane. The two stopped vehicles were then hit by a third vehicle that was traveling northbound.
Navarro was found unresponsive on the roadway and was declared dead at the scene.
All northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down following the crash.
Further details about the accident were not immediately provided.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
