Fatal Highway 25 Crash in Gilroy

1 Killed Highway 25 Car Crash near Bloomfield Avenue in Gilroy

Gilroy, California (January 3, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car collision that happened Thursday night on Highway 25 in Gilroy.

The fiery crash transpired at around 9:09 p.m. in the southbound lanes near Bloomfield Avenue.

CHP officials said the accident involved a gray pickup truck and a white work van.

The van caught fire after impact. A person at the scene was attempting to put out the fire.

One person sustained fatal injuries and died in the crash, authorities said.

Tow trucks were needed to remove the vehicles from the scene.
