CHP Investigating Deadly I-405 Collision in Hawthorne
Hawthorne, California (January 8, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly collision that forced the closure of northbound Interstate 405 in Hawthorne Tuesday night.
Authorities said the accident took place at about 9:45 p.m. near West Rosecrans Avenue.
According to CHP, a Honda Civic and an Infinity SUV collided for unknown reasons.
Emergency crews found one person laying on the ground next to one of the cars.
At least one person died in the crash, authorities said.
Drivers were advised to expect delays since all northbound lanes were shut down following the accident.
