Driver Killed, Another Seriously Injured in Oakland Crash at Hegenberger Road and Hamilton Street

Oakland, California (February 10, 2020) – A driver was killed and another was hospitalized Friday night after a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Oakland, authorities said.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. Friday, February 7, police received a report about the two-car accident at the intersection of Hegenberger Road and Hamilton Street.

According to the authorities, a maroon Honda was traveling northbound on Hegenberger Road when it collided with a silver Infiniti that was heading eastbound on Hamilton Street.

The driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old Oakland man, was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

An 18-year-old Oakland woman, who was driving the Infiniti, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a hospital.

Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
