Santa Barbara Car Crash at Las Positas and Calle Real Sent 2 Kids to Hospital

Santa Barbara, California (February 10, 2020) – Two children, ages 11 and 12, were hospitalized after being involved in a car accident on Sunday morning in Santa Barbara, a local news source reported.

The two-vehicle collision took place at about 9:30 a.m. February 9, at Las Positas and Calle Real.

As per the report, the accident possibly involved two vehicles that collided at the intersection for unknown reasons.

Officials responded at the scene and found an SUV crushed on the passenger side and with airbags deployed. A pickup truck was also found at the site flipped on its side upon the impact.

The initial report indicated that one of the drivers involved went through a yellow light at the time of the collision.

Medical personnel arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and rendered aid to all injured victims.

Two kids were transported to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara for further treatment.

The identities and the current condition of the involved patients have not yet been released to this time.

Meanwhile, a few lanes were closed down while the cleanup and investigation process took place.

The involved vehicles were towed away from the crash site.

The investigation is still underway.
