Eddie Reeves Hospitalized after Merced County Car Crash on Santa Fe Drive near El Capitan Way

Merced County, California (April 17, 2020) – Eddie Reeves, 40, has been identified as the driver who was injured in a Thursday morning head-on car accident north of Cressey, Merced County, said the CHP.

As per the police logs, the crash occurred at about 6:19 a.m., on April 16, on Santa Fe Drive, just west of El Capitan Way.

Marco Galvan, 39, of Winton, was driving a Jaguar sedan heading westbound on Santa Fe Drive when, for unknown reasons, he drifted off to the right shoulder, according to the police.

Galvan then overcorrected and went into the eastbound lanes where the Jaguar collided head-on with an oncoming GMC Yukon, driven by Eddie Reeves, 40.

Following the accident, Reeves was extricated from his vehicle by the first responders.

Reeves was flown to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto with minor to moderate injuries. The driver of the Jaguar, Marco Galvan, 39, was not injured in the crash.

The Jaguar sustained significant front end damage due to the mishap.

Intoxication did not play a role in the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
