David Morgan Killed in San Luis Obispo Pedestrian Accident at Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard

Authorities Identify Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Vehicle at Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard in San Luis Obispo as David Morgan

San Luis Obispo, California (February 28, 2020) – Authorities have identified David Chevalier Morgan, 59, of San Luis Obispo, as the pedestrian who died Thursday night after being hit by a vehicle at an intersection in San Luis Obispo.

The fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Los Osos Valley Road and Foothill Boulevard at around 7:59 p.m. Thursday, February 27.

Authorities said Morgan was at the San Luis Obispo intersection when he was hit by a vehicle.

Morgan died at the scene.

Morgan might have been attempting to commit suicide, authorities said. Police do not believe apparent distraction, drugs or alcohol were a factor on the part of the driver.

The accident remains under investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
