3 Hurt in Truck Accident on Interstate 80 in Dixon
Three Injured in Dixon Truck Crash on Interstate 80 near Pedrick Road in Dixon
Solano County, California (February 28, 2020) – According to a local news report, three people sustained injuries following a multi-vehicle crash that occurred in Dixon Friday morning.
Just before 10:30 a.m., four vehicles involving an Amazon truck collided on Interstate 80, just east of Pedrick Road.
Authorities said the Amazon truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 when, for an unknown reason, it was clipped by a Honda sedan. Due to the impact, the big rig drifted across the center median and into the eastbound lanes.
The Amazon truck then struck a white Subaru and another big rig traveling in the eastbound lanes. That impact split the Subaru into three pieces.
The driver of the Subaru was only identified as a 40-year-old Hayward man. The Hayward man sustained moderate injuries.
The Honda driver, a 47-year-old Vacaville man and the driver of the second big rig, a 67-year-old Auburn man, both suffered minor injuries in the crash.
The CHP said all four vehicles were operated by single occupants.
All three westbound lanes of the interstate were closed as the investigation and cleanup took place. All lanes were reopened to traffic just afternoon.
The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
