David Hopfner ID’d as Man Killed in Concord Motorcycle Accident at Clayton Road and Heather Drive
Concord, California (April 27, 2020) – The man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Friday morning in Concord has been identified as David Hopfner, 18, according to police.
The deadly crash occurred at about 7:15 a.m., on April 24, at the intersection of Clayton Road and Heather Drive.
As per the officials’ reports, Hopfner was traveling westbound on his motorcycle on Clayton Road when, for unknown reasons, he collided with a car at the intersection of Heather Drive.
Hopfner was transported to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The involved driver, a 46-year-old Pittsburg resident, stopped and cooperated with the authorities.
Following the accident, traffic on one lane of Clayton Road was closed for about three hours.
Drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash.
