Daniel Spring Killed in San Jose Train Accident near Highway 87 and Curtner Avenue
San Jose, California (February 14, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a fatal train crash that left 37-year-old Daniel Leon Spring with fatal injuries on Monday morning in San Jose.
The deadly crash occurred at around 9:00 a.m. February 10, near Highway 87 and Curtner Avenue.
As per the CHP officials, Leon was struck by a Valley Transportation Authority light-rail train as he was walking in the tracks.
Responding firefighters declared Mr. Spring dead at the crash site.
The passengers were ferried between Curtner and Tamien light-rail stations by buses following the collision.
Authorities closed two southbound lanes of Highway 87.
Further details regarding this crash were not released.
An investigation is underway.
