Cory Wade Killed in Coarsegold Pedestrian Accident on Highway 41
Cory Wade Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 41 near Black Hawk Lodge in Coarsegold
Coarsegold, California (January 14, 2020) – The pedestrian who was hit and killed by a vehicle Monday evening in Coarsegold has been identified as Cory Wade, 32, of Coarsegold.
The deadly accident took place just before 6:00 p.m. Monday, January 13 on Highway 41, approximately one mile north of the Black Hawk Lodge.
Authorities said Wade was walking along Highway 41 when for an unknown reason, he was struck by a 2005 gray Toyota Camry that was heading northbound the highway at around 45 to 50 mph. The impact caused the passenger’s side windshield of the Toyota to shatter.
Wade was declared dead at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, a 50-year-old man, stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. He was not injured in the accident.
It is undetermined whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
