Christopher Hager Hospitalized after Pioneertown Crash on Pioneertown Road
Pioneertown, California (March 3, 2020) – Three people were injured in a wrong-way crash on Pioneertown Road south of Chateau Road in Pioneertown, police said.
The collision was reported on Friday, February 28, at around 8:15 p.m. involving a DUI crash.
Police said a 75-year-old Pioneertown man was driving a Ram 2500 in the wrong direction on Pioneertown Road south of Chateau Road. A Hyundai Accent driver was driving southbound approaching the Ram 2500, and he turned right to avoid a Collision and was sideswiped by the Ram.
The Ram continued traveling in the wrong way until it collided head-on with a Hinda Odyssey.
26-year-old Christopher Hager of Forthfield, Minnesota, a passenger in the Honda, was severely injured in the crash.
Hager and the driver of the Ram were both taken by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with major injuries.
The driver of the Honda was airlifted by a CHP helicopter to Loma Linda Medical Center.
The driver of the Ram was determined to be driving under the influence and was arrested for felony DUI, booked into West Valley Detention upon his release.
No other details of the crash were immediately released.
