Christopher Gilpineda Dies after Pedestrian Accident on 10 Freeway in Pomona
Christopher Gilpineda Identified as Man Killed in Pomona Pedestrian Crash on 10 Freeway near Kellogg Drive
Pomona, California (April 12, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Saturday night pedestrian accident that left one person killed in Pomona.
The fatal crash transpired at about 11:25 p.m., on April 11, on the San Bernardino (10) Freeway, west of Kellogg Drive.
A 2017 Honda Civic, driven by Gilpineda of Montebello, 21, was traveling westbound on 10 Freeway when its front left tire went flat. Montebello stopped his car within the Nos. 3 and 4 lanes, the police said.
An approaching 2018 Honda Civic reportedly rear-ended Montebello’s Honda and struck Montebello, who was also standing in the No. 3 lane, next to his car.
Montebello succumbed to his injuries at the crash site.
No further information about the crash was available.
