Carl Nielsen ID’d as Rider Killed in Apple Valley Dirt Bike Crash on Deep Creek Road near Rock Springs Road
Apple Valley, California (May 17, 2020) – The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office has identified the dirt bike rider who died in a traffic accident Saturday afternoon in Apple Valley as Carl Nielsen, 38, of Apple Valley.
The fatal crash took place at around 3:51 p.m. Saturday, May 16 on Deep Creek Road, just south of Rock Springs Road.
Authorities said Nielsen was riding a dirt bike motorcycle southbound on Deep Creek Road when he collided with a truck that was turning left.
Nielsen was taken to Desert Valley Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at around 4:35 p.m.
Further details regarding the crash were not immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
