Boy Injured in McKinleyville Pedestrian Accident at Railroad Drive and McKinleyville Avenue

1 Struck and Injured by Vehicle at Railroad Drive and McKinleyville Avenue in McKinleyville

McKinleyville, California (February 17, 2020) – A 12-year-old boy was struck and injured by a vehicle on Thursday morning in McKinleyville, according to the California Highway Patrol.

As per the report, the boy was hit by a black Toyota Tacoma in the area of Railroad Drive and McKinleyville Avenue shortly before 8:43 a.m. on February 13.

The pedestrian sustained minor injuries in the wreck. He received first aid treatment from medical personnel who responded at the scene shortly after the crash.

The identity and the current condition of the patient have not yet been released to this time.

More details about the wreck will be released after the CHP completes the investigation.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
