Big Rig Crash on 880 Freeway in Oakland

1 Injured in Oakland Car Crash on I-880

Oakland, California (January 7, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a big rig collision that left one person with injuries on Monday afternoon in Oakland.

The collision happened on Monday, January 6, on Interstate 880 at around 4:40 p.m.

As per the CHP officials, a big rig and a white Honda crashed for reasons still under investigation.

One party occupying the Honda complained of pain as a result of the collision and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Authorities blocked lanes at the 66th Avenue exit, just north of Hegenberger Road near the Oakland Coliseum. All the northbound lanes on Interstate 880 were reopened as 6:21 p.m.

An investigation is ongoing.
