Authorities Identify Man Killed in 14 Freeway Crash in Palmdale
Orlando Castillo Killed in Palmdale Car Accident on Antelope Valley (14) Freeway near Courson Ranch Road
Palmdale, California (January 29, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Palmdale.
Orlando Castillo, 28, of Lancaster, died in the accident that happened at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday, January 26 on the southbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Castillo was driving a 2007 Toyota Prius on the southbound 14 Freeway while a 2017 Chevrolet sedan was traveling in an adjacent lane. For undetermined reasons, the Chevrolet collided with the rear side of the Prius.
Castillo was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and woman, who were riding as passengers in the Prius, were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was also taken to the hospital with major injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
