Austin Gambill Dies after Pedestrian Crash on Seaward Avenue in Ventura
Austin Gambill Identified as Boy Killed in Ventura Pedestrian Accident on Seaward Avenue
Ventura, California (March 16, 2020) – Austin Gambill,16, of Ventura has been identified as the boy who was hit and killed by a truck on Wednesday afternoon in Ventura, according to police.
The crash occurred along Seaward Avenue, north of Alessandro Drive, at about 3:27 p.m., on March 11.
A 2011 Chevrolet Silverado truck went up on the curb and struck Gambill who was on the sidewalk at the time, according to the police. The pedestrian was reportedly on a short run for practice when the accident occurred.
Gambill was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead on Friday, March 13, due to the injuries sustained from the crash.
The involved driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, according to the authorities.
Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
