Long Beach, California (January 23, 2020) – A traffic collision involving two vehicles in the area of Long Beach on Thursday morning resulted in unspecified injuries to at least one person, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at 9:02 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 405 Freeway.

The accident began when a grey Toyota Tundra pickup truck entered the freeway at the Lakewood Boulevard on-ramp and crossed all traffic lanes to get to the HOV lane. The driver of the pickup truck cut off a black 4-door BMW 525 sedan and triggered the collision.

Officials said at least one person was pinned, and the pickup was blocking both the northbound and southbound HOV lane.

The injured party was attended to by medical personnel who responded to the scene shortly after the accident.
