At Least One Hospitalized after Chiriaco Summit Car Accident on Interstate 10 near Hayfield Road

Chiriaco Summit, California (January 12, 2020) – At least one person was seriously injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Chiriaco Summit, authorities said.

The accident, which was reported at around 11:10 a.m. Saturday, January 11, happened on Interstate 10 near Hayfield Road.

According to the authorities, a sedan was traveling on the interstate when for an unknown reason, the sedan slammed into a trailer that was being hauled by another vehicle.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and extricated two people who were trapped in the sedan.

At least one patient suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The name and condition of the victim at this time were not immediately disclosed.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
