Adrian Estrada ID’d as Driver Killed in Redding Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Highway 299

Redding, California (February 25, 2019) – The driver who was killed in an alleged DUI traffic collision on Valentine’s Day in Redding has been identified as Adrian Estrada, a 20-year-old soldier from Orange County.

The multi-vehicle crash took place shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday, February 14 on Interstate 5 Freeway near Lake Boulevard/Highway 299 interchange.

According to a local news report, Jecenia Hedrick, 22, of Anderson, was driving a 2013 Honda Civic southbound on 5 Freeway when she rear-ended a 2006 BMW sedan that was being driven by Estrada on the same traffic lane.

The force of the impact caused the BMW to overturn and land onto its roof. A Peter-built tractor truck driven by 56-year-old Timothy McDaniel of Medford, Oregon, then slammed into the BMW.

Estrada died in the accident.

Hedrick and her passenger, 20-year-old James Parscal, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries.

McDaniel was not injured in the wreck.

Police affirmed that Hedrick was intoxicated at the time of the collision. She was later arrested for DUI and is facing felony charges, including manslaughter.

The CHP is still investigating the cause of the fatal accident.

Mr. Khodaverdian encourages victims and their family members to seek legal help as soon as possible in order to preserve their rights to the full extent of the law.

Mr. Khodaverdian has worked for many years as a wrongful death and personal injury attorney. He and his team of attorneys has helped thousands of injury victims and their families recover over $100 million in compensation. “In one case, we recovered a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim who was killed by a negligent driver.”

Swift action by an experienced attorney helps preserve evidence, interview witnesses, and begin to pursue those responsible for the incident.
