8 People Injured in South Los Angeles Car Crash on East Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard near Main Street

South Los Angeles, California (June 4, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Wednesday night multi-vehicle accident that left eight people, including a Los Angeles Police Department officer, nursing injuries in South Los Angeles.

The major injury crash occurred in the 100 block of East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Main Street, at around 9:50 p.m., on June 3.

Several vehicles, including a Los Angeles Police Department patrol vehicle, reportedly collided on the roadway. The manner at which the crash happened is yet to be established.

First responders arrived at the scene and extricated the police officer who was trapped in the damaged police car.

Eight people involved in the mishap were injured. Two of the eight victims sustained severe injuries, and the other six suffered minor injuries.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
