5 Hurt in Chula Vista Car Accident on East Paisley Street and Monserate Avenue

Chula Vista, California (December 14, 2019) – Five people were injured Thursday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in Chula Vista, authorities said.

The accident occurred shortly after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12 on East Paisley Street and Monserate Avenue.

According to the police, for an unknown reason, a black truck collided with a car at the intersection. The impact pushed the car into a parked vehicle. The truck driver did not stop and crashed into another parked vehicle in a driveway.

Two people were working on that parked vehicle and were hit by the vehicle. The impact sent the parked car into a parked RV. One of the involved vehicles went on fire as a result of the crash.

The two people who were working on the parked vehicle were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. One person in the RV was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Two suspects in the truck fled the scene after the crash. They later turned themselves in and were also treated for minor injuries.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
