5 Teenage Girls Hospitalized after Monte Rio Crash on Highway 116 near Austin Creek Road
Monte Rio, California (March 12, 2020) – A two-vehicle crash in Monte Rio left five teenage girls with injuries Tuesday night, according to authorities.
On March 10, at around 6:00 p.m. a white Jeep Wrangler, occupied by five teenage girls, was heading westbound on Highway 116 along the Russian River when it collided with a Honda Accord that was making a left turn from Austin Creek Road.
Authorities said the driver of the Honda, Isaac Ugar, 18, of Santa Rosa, failed to stop a stop sign, causing the accident.
One of the girls was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in an unknown condition while three others were taken by ground ambulance to a hospital for treatment non-life-threatening injuries.
Ugar was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. His passenger, a 19-year-old Sebastopol woman, was not injured.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
