1 Injured in 5 Freeway Crash near Elk Grove Boulevard in Elk Grove

Elk Grove, California (April 9, 2020) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a multi-car accident that left at least one person injured Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 5 Freeway in Elk Grove.

The 3:03 p.m. collision took place in the southbound lane of the freeway near Elk Grove Boulevard and involved at least four vehicles.

Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available, but the authorities said one of the involved vehicles knocked over a road sign and a pole after the collision.

Emergency crews responded to the scene to provide medical aid at least one person who was hurt in the crash. The identity of the patient and the extent of their injuries were not immediately provided.
