Man Dies after Sylmar Truck Accident on Foothill Freeway near Polk Street Exit

Sylmar, California (May 15, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday night semi-truck accident that killed a 39-year-old Pasadena man in Sylmar.

At about 10:55 p.m., on May 14, the officials responded to the deadly crash on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway, near the Polk Street exit.

The police said a 2012 Cadillac collided with a semi-truck on the freeway. The factors that contributed to the crash are yet to be established.

The Cadillac caught fire after the impact. Debris was spread in all lanes of the freeway as a result of the collision, said the officials.

The Cadillac driver was pronounced dead at the crash site.

As of 4:15 a.m., on Friday, all lanes of the Foothill Freeway near Polk Street were reopened.

It was not clear if drugs or alcohol contributed to the mishap.
