3 Dies after Phelan Car Accident on Palmdale Road near Sheep Creek Road

Phelan, California (April 16, 2020) – Authorities are investigating a Thursday afternoon head-on car crash that left three people killed in Phelan.

As per the police reports, the deadly accident occurred at about 4:03 p.m. on Palmdale Road west of Sheep Creek Road.

The police said a black BMW and a green hatchback collided head-on on the roadway.

One of the vehicles tried to pass another car that was traveling westbound on Palmdale Road when it collided head-on with an oncoming vehicle, according to a witness.

Following the accident, one of the vehicles reportedly erupted into flames and was put off by a Good Samaritan.

Three people were declared dead at the scene. There were no survivors in the crash.

Palmdale Road between Sheep Creek and Amarillo Roads was closed for more than an hour due to the mishap.

The crash remains under investigation.
