3 Kids, 2 Women Injured in Sylmar Crash on 210 Freeway near 5 Freeway

Sylmar, California (February 14, 2020) –Three children and two adults were hospitalized Friday afternoon after a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Sylmar.

Authorities responded to the eastbound 210 Freeway near the northbound 5 Freeway transition road after reports of a two-vehicle crash that happened shortly after 2:00 p.m.

The collision involved two SUVs. Due to the impact, a 3-year-old boy was thrown from his car seat.

The 3-year-old boy was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The other four people, a 6-year-old girl, a 12-year-old boy, a 27-year-old woman, and a 42-year-old woman, were all hospitalized in serious to fair condition.

All eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway were closed at Yarnell Street following the crash.

The accident remains under investigation.
