Carpinteria, California (February 14, 2020) – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the cause of a pedestrian accident that happened near Carpinteria High School along Foothill Road on Thursday morning.
According to a local news source, two pedestrians were hit by a Toyota sedan near the location of 4810 Foothill Road at about 7:47 a.m.
Deputies responded to the scene shortly after the wreck and found two people awake and alert, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The two patients were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
