2 Killed in Fiery Crash on Highway 41 in Lemoore
Driver, Passenger Killed in Lemoore Car Accident on Highway 41 near 22nd Avenue
Lemoore, California (January 20, 2020) – Two people were killed Monday afternoon in a fiery crash in Lemoore, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The deadly accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. on Highway 41, just south of 22nd Avenue.
According to the CHP, a BMW SUV was heading southbound on Highway 41 when it went on the side of the road and over-corrected. The BMW then drifted into the opposite lane and collided head-on with a passing big rig.
As a result of the collision, the BMW caught fire and the truck ended up partially submerged in a nearby canal.
The driver and passenger in the BMW were declared deceased at the scene. Their names have not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver of the big rig was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
