2 Hospitalized After 2 Vehicles Crashed at Motel Drive and Pine Street in Merced
Merced, California (March 1, 2020) – 21-year-old Brian Garcia Barriga has been arrested for DUI causing bodily injuries and driving over double parallel solid lines on Thursday night in Merced.
As per the report, two people were injured after a grey-colored Honda Accord Coupe driven by Barriga collided with a red-colored Chevrolet pickup truck in the area of Motel Drive and Pine Street at approximately 8:30 p.m. on February 27.
The initial report indicated that the two automobiles crashed at a curve in the intersection for unknown reasons.
A female party driving the pickup truck and her passenger sustained unspecified injuries following the wreck. Medical personnel, along with Merced Fire Department officials, rendered aid to the victims and then took them to an area hospital for further treatment.
Barriga, who was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the collision, and a woman riding as a passenger in the Accord were not hurt in the wreck.
The current condition and the identity of the patients have not yet been released to this time.
Barriga was later arrested and taken into custody. The investigation is underway.
