2 Hospitalized after Suspected DUI Crash on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa

2 Injured in Santa Rosa DUI Car Accident on Highway 101 near Todd Road

Santa Rosa, California (April 8, 2020) – A traffic accident involving a suspected drunk driver in Santa Rosa left two people with injuries Monday night, according to authorities.

The accident took place at around 10:50 p.m. Monday, April 6 on Highway 101, just north of Todd Road.

Authorities said Anthony Garcia Lopez, 23, of Rohnert Park, was driving a silver BMW sedan southbound on Highway 101 when he crashed into a center median in unclear circumstances. Minutes later, a white Honda Civic slammed into the BMW and struck Lopez, who had just got out of his vehicle.

The Honda driver was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Lopez was also taken to the hospital with major injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

As per the report, Lopez will be taken to the Sonoma County Jail after being discharged from the hospital.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
