2 Hurt in Los Gatos Crash on Highway 85 near Highway 17
Los Gatos, California (February 27, 2020) – Two people were seriously injured when their vehicles collided on Highway 85 early Thursday morning in Los Gatos, a local news source reported.
As per the article, the crash involved a “disoriented” driver who was driving the wrong way.
The crash happened at about 12:30 a.m. near Highway 17.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about a car that was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the highway near De Anza Boulevard. Shortly after, the officers received another call about a collision that had occurred just north of Highway 17.
Authorities responded to the scene to find a 2019 Toyota Tacoma and a 2019 Honda CR-V involved in the crash.
An initial investigation revealed that the driver of the Tacoma, a 62-year-old man, was heading the wrong way when he hit the Honda head-on.
Emergency crews transported both drivers to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities said alcohol or drugs were not considered to be factors in the crash. The driver of the Tacoma was, however, described as to have been “disoriented,” possibly by a medical condition.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
