Major Injuries Reported After Highway 101 2-Vehicle Collision in Novato

Novato, California (June 22, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances that led to the collision of two vehicles in Novato at approximately 12:20 p.m. Saturday.

One person was hospitalized at Marin General Hospital with major injuries after a silver Toyota sedan and a black truck with a camper shell collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 101, just south of Atherton Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Due to the impact, the sedan rolled over and came to a rest on its wheels.

Meanwhile, officials affirmed that one of the involved automobiles had three passengers at the time of the crash.

The current condition and the identity of the wounded parties remain unknown thus far.

The wreck resulted in the closure of the Nos. 2 and 3 lanes of southbound Highway 101 at Atherton Avenue up to around 1:22 p.m.

An investigation into the mishap is underway.
