Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Kearny Mesa on State Route 163 near Balboa Avenue

Kearny Mesa, California (January 7, 2020) – One person was struck and killed by a vehicle on Tuesday morning in Kearny Mesa, according to a police report.

The deadly crash took place at about 3:00 a.m January 7, on State Route 163 near Balboa Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol said the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the roadway.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
