1 Critically Hurt in Arcata Car Crash on Highway 101 at Samoa Boulevard
Arcata, California (January 17, 2020) – One person was severely injured after an Arcata car crash early Thursday morning in Arcata, according to authorities.
The crash happened at around 2:00 a.m. January 16, on Highway 101 at Samoa Boulevard off-ramp.
As per the CHP officials, a white Volkswagen and a Ford SUV crashed for reasons still under investigation. The impact caused the SUV to drive 70 feet off the roadway following the collision while the Volkswagen overturned on its roof.
Responding emergency crews rendered aid to at least one person who sustained severe injuries in the collision. The name of the wounded party and their current condition were not immediately released.
The Volkswagen sustained significant front-end damage due to the crash.
