CHP Investigating Fatal National City Collision on San Diego (5) Freeway
National City, California (January 11, 2020) – One person died in a car crash that happened Saturday morning on a freeway in National City, a local news source reported.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at about 4:51 a.m. on San Diego (5) Freeway, just north of Highway 54.
There were few details given about the crash, but the incident may have involved a car hitting a parked vehicle at the center divider on the northbound side.
The crash forced the closure of all northbound lanes between Mile of Cars Way and Harbor Drive/Civic Center Drive for an unknown period.
