Fatal Vehicle Accident in Gustine on Interstate 5 near Highway 140

Gustine, California (January 8, 2020) – One person was killed after an accident involving an oil spill on Wednesday morning in Gustine, Merced County. Police said.

The collision took place at around 12:35 a.m. January 8, on Interstate 5, just south of Highway 140.

According to the CHP, a semi-truck was traveling on interstate 5 when it crossed over lanes and hit several vehicles.

One person was killed in the collision.

The highway was closed for hazmat cleanup from the collision.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The crash is still under investigation.
